Les Grandes Tours hotel, called
in the past “hotel des Messageries”
has welcomed Juliette Drouet and
Victor Hugo:
They arrived at 7.00 pm, stopped at the top of this
long road which runs along the ramparts, to the
"Hotel des Messageries",
rue du Château.
Victor Hugo and Juliette Drouet had their diner,
spent the night and since they enjoyed the place,
had their lunch the day after.
Obviously appealed to the medieval city of Dinan, Victor Hugo immortalized
Dinan by this sentence : "Dinan is a beautiful old city
bound and built in overhang on a chasm like a nest of swallows".
